Following the speculation on when the president will be visiting USIU-A, We (USIwho) took the liberty to give clarity to all who haven't accessed their email. There has, however been a change in plan. The President will be flying to Japan for a four-day tour and will be represented by his deputy, Hon. William Ruto.

Dear University Community,
On Thursday, March 12, our university is honored to welcome His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta C.G.H. President and Commander in Chief of the Defense Forces of the Republic of Kenya to our campus, to officially open the new Science Center.
As you may already be aware, the new Science Center hosts the School of Science and Technology and the new School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - which will receive the university’s first batch of Bachelor of Pharmacy freshmen in the Summer Semester.
Members of the university community are especially invited to attend the ceremony. However, because sitting space is necessarily limited, priority will be given to those guests with official invitation cards.
The ceremony will be held on the graduation court in front of the Library beginning at 10am. On arrival, President Kenyatta will plant a commemorative tree before cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque to officially open the Science Center. He will then proceed to the presidential dais, for the day’s ceremony to begin.
For students and faculty on campus at that time, arrangements are being made for classes that are taking place within the 10am – 1pm class period.
Given the nature of presidential visits, unique security arrangements are being made in conjunction with the Presidential Escort, which will be communicated shortly. Though they may inconvenience many of us, we request your indulgence and compliance to ensure the entire ceremony flows smoothly and effortlessly, especially for those of us charged with coordinating the day’s activities.
Finally, for a few hours, the entire country’s attention will be trained right here on USIU-Africa; let’s show them the world!
