Its that time of the year where student election is around the corner. New  faces always present themselves. From  manifestos to  pledges and all that kind of election vocabulary that comes into your mind;  Its about to go down!!.  Over the next  few weeks brace yourselves  it's  is going to get interesting !. But first  here goes candidate number one.

Who is Pratik?

Pratik Koria is  a student at United States International University, undertaking the course Applied Computer Technology. I am a sophomore

I am outgoing person, I like to be mixed with everyone I can, and I like to socialize that is. I am friendly and have a unique sense of humour. In this world,  people envision that IT people are boring and poor company. Well I am the living example of that myth.  You can do all that geek stuff and still enjoy yourself .

What drives you everyday?

I am passionate about Technology, as most of you call it. But the thing is that, there is more than

meets the eye. I love technology because of the way it is, I just love the way behaves, moves, flaws and breathes. It is something that we cannot escape. I fell in love with it since the day I first laid eyes on the first computer I saw, and that is also the first I played a game and that got me hooked completely because I am also a part time gamer. I have worked on several projects since high school, and I entered a National Competition for High Schools and I presented my project with my partner, classmate and friend and we managed to come third in Kenya in the year 2012. My experience and drive for this field even ran higher and that got me where I am today, doing a degree in Computer Science and hoping to take it a step further for me through running for School of Science  and Technology representative  and hoping to share and implement the ideas I have and the ones of the people. It is the people that make the society so you cannot do anything without them. I am the people, by the people for the people, there is no other way.

What would you change if you won this position??

I am running for this seat because I have to help myself by helping others, because what happens to the students all happens to me, after all I am still a student.

My plan is to be able to challenge other students to get into the thick of things as far as  IT  Journalism and Pharmacy is concerned. My deepest regret is the fact that many students are taking these technical courses such as the ones mentioned above but do not have a knowledge base that is admirable. This is because of the lack of drive and motivation in students to do anything outside the class environs. I want to ensure that all students taking technical courses to be able to acquire skills that are needed for the job market. I intend to do this by organizing several boot camps and workshops that will enable the students to get skills and be prepared for the job market.

With the completion of the student centre, there will be provision of an innovative space that will be open for everyone with an idea to come and implement it. This is because we are living in a place and time that innovation could easily be called the next thing to become successful.

Final Thoughts?

I would like to make an appeal to all students to vote for me and together we will make the dream come true. Challenges  will always be there but lets make it worthwhile.  I hope to make a  positive impact during my tenure.
